This started as only a construction log but over half of it is assembly tips. I wrote it with other builder's in mind so check it out. Also, I have found that my assembly times are much shorter than those listed on other web sites. I attribute this to two things. The first is that I owned and operated a cabinet shop so I'm real handy with a drill. The second is that I'm not trying to win grand champion at the next fly-in. I want to build a safe, strong airplane that flys well. I find that when it comes to manufacturing, you can waste 50% of your time on the 10% that doesn't matter anyway. One last thing, I don't count the time daydreaming, futzing around the house, or going to the hardware store. Many times you can find yourself just staring at the project wondering what color you're going to paint the plane. In my mind, this stuff doesn't count. |
